Verity – Colleen Hoover Short Book Review

I’ve given this book a go because of the people recommending it to someone who wanted to read a book from a Villain’s point of view. Basing my next read indulgence on that thought, more than half of myself assume one character will turn out to be the “bad guy” and I’m just waiting for any moment for them to snap; like a wolf in a sheep’s clothing. I forgot Villains are still human and they too have a story to tell. To be completely honest, this book has given me nightmares – I refuse to listen to it during nighttime (Audible was my platform of choice). This book will resonate in your mind especially to me who’s someone that’s easily haunted by words directed to them. Listening to this book instead of reading it, is a very very bad idea for my well-being. Yes, you read it right, but definitely read-worthy.

⚠️Spoiler Alert ⚠️

The plot started, with two people meeting beforehand which later on will be officially/professionally introduced. The summary includes but is not limited to: some thrilling and horrific encounters, love and obsessions, tragic family story, and death/homicide. Since reading this book I’ve been taunting about this thought more often – Could you prove your intentions with your actions purely out of love while you say contradicting words?

This book will totally change your perspective about this phrase – Hear the words but listen to their actions. What if it’s the other way around? You see their actions but still, you believe their words (that, everyone, is artistic writing). This part entirely wrecked me.

The twist at the end was somewhat a relief and I honestly think the plight of Verity would have been avoided with just a disclaimer written on the first page of the manuscript (if it were indeed a written exercise as claimed) – then again there will be no book being published that’ll pour all these emotions to me.

    Hey Kid!

I once thought that I don’t deserve to laugh – to have fun. Back to the good old grade school days, I always carry with me a hanky. I don’t possess so much growing up but my hankies are something that’s always been there (even though sometimes I misplaced them). Whenever I’m in a group…

There was a photo I had taken from the past which also involve a tree (I always had something with trees xD). And that tree was a mango tree from my tatay’s farm. Since I was a child, we play/rest there with my cousins during summer; visiting and celebrating our tatay’s birthday on May. It was…
